Ah, I’ve been waiting for this. Behind my love of the beach and the sea, is the love of mountains and the peaceful quiet. This was such a nice place and a welcomed break from the busy streets and tourists. After a windy road up the mountains – which was a joy in itself – I arrived at this small peaceful town called Sidemen. The small hotel was amazing…almost brand new and set in the stunning backdrops of the mountains. Outside the room were rice paddy fields and lots of crops of peanuts. Did you know that peanuts are grown in the ground? Well I didn’t!
I decided to walk back to the hotel after dinner. It was only a short walk but nice to stroll through the streets of Sidemen. The peace was only short lived as I managed to cause so much noise by making every single dog bark in the entire town. I can’t have been popular that night at all!
It was so quiet though…not even the sound of cricket or such. Just nothing but the sound of my sandles on the road. It was probably the most peaceful night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time. In the morning I awoke to this…
And here’s a rare treat…it’s the TaiPan making a guest appearance in my photos
When there is so much happening around you with people, noise, cars, fellow travel peeps, it makes such a wonderful experience to have a moment of pure peace and serenity. Ah, bless me wee cotton socks ha ha
